There are always steps you can take to improve Reaper’s performance, whatever your particular setup. It is highly complex audio software, and therefore subject to the same performance issues as any other similar application. But that does not mean that you will never have any issues with it. Help Needed.Reaper is renowned as one of the best-performing DAWs available today. Since the 11R has a MIC input, this could also be used to reamp with a real amp. I suspect that given more time I'll learn how to get the levels right. I'm a novice at reamping (virtual or otherwise). You will probably notice that the levels are really hot as I did. Now press the PLAY icon to listen to the reamped track you just recorded. Press the the M button within Track 1 to mute it. Once you are finished recording press the STOP icon then the REWIND icon. This is the sound you are going to use to REAMP the DRY track.ĩ) In reaper Track 1 click on M to UNMUTE track.ġ0) In Reaper click on TRACK, INSERT NEW TRACK, Click on the red 'o' to arm the track for recording.ġ1) In Reaper click on OPTIONS, PREFERENCES, DEVICEġ2) Click on the INPUT arrow within the track to select STEREO if you want stereo.ġ3) Now press the big red 'o' button to record your reamped track. Now SCROLL to select a different amp model and fx rig. SCROLL to select RIG INPUT and press SW1 button. Press the red 'o' button on both tracks to UNarm them.Ĩ) 11R Press and hold the EDIT button. Once you have recorded something, press the STOP icon and press the BACK icon. This is what you will hear while you play and record.ħ) In Reaper press the large red 'o' button to record and play some guitar. This will be your WET guitar track (WITH amp modeling and fx). It should show Input 3 within track.if not Click on it and select Input 3. Later, you will use this dry guitar track to virtual reamp.Ħ) In Reaper click on TRACK, INSERT NEW TRACK, Click on the red 'o' to arm the track for recording. This will be your DRY guitar track (NO amp modeling or fx) Click on M to mute this track so you won't hear it while you play. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to do multiple different 11r presets.ĩ. Check the time-alignment of the audio on Trk2 (sometimes mine end up a few milliseconds late, based on my system's performance).Ĩ. Press record on reaper, you should hear and see the track being printed.ħ. Make sure Trk1 is NOT record enabled or muted.Ħ. Name Trk2 with the patch selected, record enable and mute Trk2.ĥ. Make a new stereo track (Trk2) in reaper and set its input to 'Input 3 + 4', on mine it is called 'Eleven Rig L + Eleven Rig R'. Hold down the 'Edit/Back' button on the 11r and select 'Rig Input'. On Trk1 click on the 'I/O' button that is next to the track name and select the 'Add new hardware output' -> 'Output 3' (or 3 and 4 if it is a stereo track), my output 3 is called 'ReAmp L'.ģ. Have a dry guitar (or bass) track recorded from input 1 (guitar input), we will call that Trk1.Ģ.
